Fringe amplitudes in DBBC FTP tests in EVN Session of February/March 2014

The plots below (each clickable for higher resolution) are of two kinds for each of the four EVN stations that recorded with digital BBC (DBBC) in parallel with analogue BBC devices. The first plot contains ratios of fringe amplitude of DBBC to analogue_BBC in all 8 channels in each polarisation (LCP is in blue and RCP in red) and for each scan. The other plot for a station presents amplitudes at each of the DBBC channels normalized to the average value of these 16 channels.

The original amplitude data were taken from www pages posted by JIVE for the experiments of the EVN Session 1/2014 (all 'ftp' experiments are included, i.e. F14L1, N14L1, F14M1, N14M1, F14C1, N14C1, F14K1 and N14K1). The 'scan_No' used for the bottom scales runs from 0 (corresponding to scan 02 of F14L1 as indicated above the top scale) to 19 (scan 69 of N14K1), and the 'channel_No' is counted from 1 to 8 (corresponding to the sequence LSB, USB, LSB, USB ... of the four BBCs shown in the insets).

These plots are indicative of performance of DBBC compared to non-DBBC converters and of channel to channel variability of DBBC themeselves.
